English 20-1
My English 20-1 class consisted of 23 students with a range of abilities. Their ELA 10-1 grades ranged from 61% to 95%. Six students required test accommodations, including isolation, extra time, and readers. The overarching course question was: The conflict that arises from different perspectives. I taught two units: Shakespeare’s Macbeth and Lord of the Flies by William Golding. Fridays were dedicated writing workshop days where students polished their grammar skills through mini lessons and worked through a specific “work attack” strategy to define unfamiliar words.
